As I know research and fieldwork, I also know education, training, and outreach. Whether in or outside the academic world, in the non- or for-profit sectors, ideally my position would blend applied and intellectual work in a style that I am comfortably familiar as both self-directed manager and collaborative team member.
My work as a teacher/educator/coordinator/coach has given me skill in delegating responsibility, coordinating tasks, and motivating others to complete plans. In addition to this experience, conducting fieldwork, analyzing data, and publishing/presenting results has taught me how to successfully manage complex projects from beginning to end through developing project designs, creating realistic timelines, prioritizing tasks, identifying resources, anticipating potential problems, and maintaining flexibility in the face of changing circumstances.
